Product Description
A potent neuroleptic agent with a low order of toxicity. Can be used in dogs and cats as an aid in controlling intractable animals during examination, treatment, grooming, X-ray and minor surgical procedures; to alleviate itching as a result of skin irritation; and as an antiemetic to control vomiting associated with motion sickness. Can also be used as a pre-anesthetic agent. Acepromazine maleate has a depressant effect on the central nervous system and therefore causes sedation, muscular relaxation and a reduction in spontaneous activity. It is not a pain reliever.
Additional information:
- When giving by mouth, give dose 45-60 minutes before procedure or triggering event for best effect. Your veterinarian may recommend a trial dose a few days before travel to see how the drug will affect your animal
- Sedative/tranquilizing effects and side effects may last 6-8 hours
- This drug may give urine a pinkish to red-brown color; this is nothing to be worried about
- Keep treated animal in a quiet, comfortable temperature environment
- Unless your veterinarian instructs, don't give other medications to tranquilize or sedate your animal while administering this drug

- Store protected from light.
- Tablets should be stored in a tight container at controlled room temperature
